I'm in my final year and my last couple of days.

My End of Year Show will be held on Tuesday 11th from 5pm to 8pm, on the 7th floor gallery in City of Glasgow College. Exhibiting my complete and final pieces. Friends and family welcome!

I also decided that to really complete the presentation on my final pieces I had to display my handmade paper. As well as some fresh newly designed business cards that if I do say so myself, look amazing!

This brief was to explore more advanced manufacturing techniques and develop them into highly finished skilled sample pieces and 1 final piece.

The manufacturing techniques I chose to explore were: brooch making, laser cutting, piercing blocks (cutting and piercing), paper manipulation, lost wax casting, 'paper' stone setting and flush stone setting.

My 2 sample pieces below to the right

Documented in a very thorough technical notebook I have included lots of information as to how these techniques were carried out, the materials and costs, labour, any problems and their solutions throughout this process.

Some images of my technical notebook and sketchbook below

Next is my Advanced Manufacturing Techniques final piece.

I chose this particular design for a number of reasons: mainly because it covers many different techniques being lost wax casting, brooch making, paper manipulation, 'paper' settings and also incorporates a flush setting which is another outcome completed and ticked off.

The piece in my opinion when completed looks perfect and finished to a high standard, it also fits in best with my current work and use of materials. Which has fulfilled the briefs requirements.

My Final Piece.

Unlike sketchbook sketches, quick and not always accurate these are my professional, to scale presentation drawings with added interest of my paper.

To scale drawing:
